The decision to have a universal public health care system is always political. ~ Professor Allyson Pollock, 2016

Wednesday November 12 at 7 pm via Zoom

Dr. Allyson Pollock will be joining our own Executive Director, Natalie Mehra, and the President of OCHU/CUPE, Michael Hurley, for this high-level briefing on the experience of privatizing public hospital services in the UK.

They are about 15 years ahead of us, and we can now see exactly what happened.

Interestingly, while England expanded privatization, Scotland stopped it, giving a side-by-side real life example of what happens when you privatize vs what happens when governments choose to expand services in public hospitals.

There will be presentations followed by a Q&A and discussion.
